Obsidian’s team of experienced, pragmatic agile coaches and team leaders work with our Clients as key embedded members of the team, providing hands-on guidance to transform to agile and build better software, faster. In our experience, there is not a single solution for all organizations adopting Agile. A successful Agile transformation is accomplished using techniques that adapt Agile processes to the unique challenges and personality of each organization. Obsidian’s Agile Transformation Plan consists of three phases, which are separated based upon their scope of influence as Agile is adopted throughout the organization:
- Pilot Phase – we start with a single software development project to limit number of individuals affected and project risk, and assess the organization. The Team Charter is established and we begin Agile coaching and executing Agile methodologies on the project
- Standardization Phase – we expand to an entire group (many people and multiple projects), but the adoption is still limited within the group. We document the challenges, successes, and efficiencies gained in this phase and utilize those in the next phase.
- Institutionalization Phase – Agile becomes an ingrained way of doing business that our Clients follow routinely as part of their culture. This phase involves all individuals across multiple groups/programs and large projects.
